From the magical town of Cusco nestled in the high Andes, to the tropical climate of the Pongo de Mainique in the rich jungle. This jungle tour takes you to all these places and gives a stunning impression of Peru. For photographers this is a dream location that will leave you wanting more.

Day 1. In the morning we are collected from our hotels and transferred to the airport in Cusco for our 1 hour charter flight to Timpia. Arriving in the Machiguenga (local Indians) town of Timpia we have a little time admire the town before taking our transport to Esperanza Camp Site for a 4 four day, 3 night trip to jungle. We will also have the opportunity to take a short trip to the Pongo de Mainique so that may be acquainted with the portal to the afterlife of the Machiguenga Indians.

Jungle Retreat

Day 2. An early rise so that we may visit a Cock of the Rock feeding area that is situated near the campsite. On our return we will have breakfast and an expertly guided tour of the various plantations that make up our jungle centre. For those that want we will take to the jungle trails to see the incredible scenery, to learn about the indigenous plants and animals in the area. If you are staying at the campsite you can relax in a hammock and watch the world go by.

Day 3. Today gives us the perfect chance to do whatever we want, if we want to walk in the jungle our guide is available to escort us, if we want to try our hand at fishing that is another option or maybe just relax. We also have a fantastic opportunity to go to the Pongo de Mainique for a few hours, swim by the waterfall and bask on a rock.

Day 4. An early rise and we board the canoe for the one hour journey trip to the Machiguenga town of Timpia and the airport. Before boarding our one hour flight to Cusco we have the option to visit Timpia.
On return to Cusco transfer to our hotel.
