Eco Trek Peru - Salkantay Hike

5 Days & 4 Nights of trekking through stunning peaks lost Inca lands and exploring Machu Picchu- one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!

Prices available from $550US per person 3 people minimum.

Day 1 -- Rise early to depart Cusco via a scenic drive to the small village of Challacacha 3600 m , located high above the Apurimac River from here we will star the hike climbing for a bit to get to a water aqueduct getting a impressive view of the Vilcabamba mountain range afther a two hour of a really nice walk we will arrive to Soraypamapa were we will enjoy our lunch whit an amazing view of Salkantay peak, after a good rest we will walk two hour more to our camp site at Salkantaypampa 4140m just at the base of these beautiful mountain.

Day 2 -- After breakfast we'll follow a series of switchbacks up the side of a mountain beneath the shadows of the grandiose Mount Salkantay, making a stop at a scenic high pass 4650m flanked by mountains on every side. From here, we make our way downhill enjoying the changes in scenery going down from the glaciers to the cloud forest seeing condors, chinchillas and hummingbirds we will camp at los Andenes at 3280m .

Day 3 -- Today the trail will be full of orchids and going down in the Santa Teresa valley after a good four hours of peruvian flat we will enjoy some of the local fruits whit a healthy lunch keep going down to the noisy valley we will arrive to la playa To take a little rest to keep going to Lucmabamba (1700 m ) were we will built our cam site and take a rest behind a coffee plantations

Day 4 -- On the final day of hiking,we will take the original Inca Trail . A gradual uphill climb through lush forest brings us to Llactapata (2700 m), where we enjoy a brilliant, unique view of the backside of Machu Picchu and surrounding peaks. In the afternoon, we take the hydroelectric train to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we'll spend the night in a comfortable hostel just outside the National Park.

Day 5 -- Early rise; we've finally made it to the wondrous Machu Picchu! We'll take a quick trip on the first early morning bus up to the stunning archaeological complex for a full day of exploring the mysterious ruins with our professional guide. In the evening, it's back to Cusco by train, where we'll spend the last night before flying out to Lima and connections the next day.
