Fiona Cameron
Director of Sales and Marketing
Fiona hails from the west coast of Scotland were she completed an apprenticeship
in Aeronautical Engineering. She then moved to the South of France for
4 years were she developed a love of skiing and the mountains. After
moving to Cusco she ran the South American Explorers before deciding
to open the company. Fiona still likes to get of the office especially
to the jungle but will normally be found running the office. Fiona is
trained in Wilderness First Aid.
David Ugarte
Director of Operations and Head Guide
David was born in Cusco, Peru and is in love with his country. He studied
tourism in the University in Cuzco for 5 years before co founding the
company with his partner. He is passionate about culture and history,
mountain biking, hiking, rafting and general exploring. He guides many
of the treks and is in charge of operations. He is also trained in Wilderness
Advanced First Aid.
About Our Staff
Carmen
Manager of Soap
Carmen is 35 and comes from Abancay. She works part time making our
biodegradable bath products. She is always looking at new and fabulous
recipes. She is our longest employee with 5 years service.
Yuli Becerra
Office Secretary
Yuli is 24 years old and from Cusco. She works in reservations and will
take care of your behind the scenes needs when not looking after her
2 young kids.
Guides
Omar Aragorn is from Cusco and a licensed tourism guide. He speaks
fluent English and has a long history of tourism in his family. Guides
treks and cultural tours.
Leonidas Oblitas is from Cusco and studied tourism to masters in the
university. He has been best guide in Manu 2 years running and is well
trained in first aid and wilderness. He guides treks, cultural, jungle
and mountain biking and is fluent in English and has travelled in South
Africa.
Lucho Gracia
Also from Cusco is one of the best river
rafting guides in Cusco with 5 years experience on the Apurimac. He is
a grade V river guide with certification in Rescue 3 and Wilderness First
Aid. He has travelled extensively through SA and has guided in Austria
and Chile. He guides rafting, trekking and mountain biking.
Valentin
Valentin is our head chef and head of the porters,
he makes wonderful gourmet food with the best of products anywhere from
the jungle to the inka trail. He started off as a porter and worked up
through the ranks. Look out for his trout with elderberry sauce, delicious.
Ilario Sicus
Our head horseman is from Quiswarani a small weaving town
on the Lares mountain range. He is married with 1 child and is owner
of 20 horses.
Teo Filo
Head horseman on the Ausangate route. He has lived in Tinqui
all his life and is married with 5 children and has a farm with alpacas
and horses.
Porters
Our porters come from different communities in the Andes, Ausangate,
Lares, Choquecancha and cachiccata.
