From the magical town of Cusco nestled in the high Andes, to the tropical climate of the Pongo de Mainique in the rich jungle. With fantastic opportunities to experience this nature filled area of the jungle of Peru, with lots of primary jungle. With amazing opportunities to see blue and gold, scarlet and greenwing macaws, lowland tapir’s, peccaries among other animals. This tour takes you to all these places and gives a stunning impression of Peru. For photographers a dream location that leaves you wanting more.

Day 1. In the morning we are collected from our hotels and transferred to the airport in Cusco for our 1 hour charter flight to Timpia. Arriving in the Machiguenga (native Indian tribe) town of Timpia we have a little time admire the town before taking our transport to our base at Esperanza campsite for a 4 four day, 3 night trip to jungle. We have the afternoon to relax or wander round the coffee and fruit plantation.

Jungle Retreat

Day 2. An early rise so that we may visit a Macaw Claylick, which is feeding area for Macaws and is situated near our campsite. There are scarlet, gold and green-wing macaws. On our return we will have breakfast and an expertly guided tour of the various plantations that make up our jungle centre. For those that want we will take to the jungle trails to see the incredible scenery, to learn about the indigenous plants and animals in the area. If you are staying at base you can relax in a hammock and watch the world go by. All meals served in camp.

Day 3. Today gives us the perfect chance to do whatever we want, if we want to walk in the jungle our guide is available to escort us, if we want to try our hand at fishing that is another option or maybe just relax. We also have a fantastic opportunity to go to the Pongo de Mainique for a few hours, swim by the waterfall and bask on a rock watch the world go by. All meals served in camp.

Day 4. An early rise and we board the canoe for the one hour journey trip to the Machiguenga town of Timpia and the airport. Before boarding our one hour flight to Cusco we have the option to visit Timpia and buy some last minute hand crafted gifts.
On return to Cusco transfer to our hotel.
