After the pass we have beautiful views of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range. We have lunch and continue on through cloud forest and a spectacular Inca tunnel which is part of the original Inca trail. Day 4. Machu Picchu, The Jewel

Against the normal rules we depart a little later than everyone else to enjoy the stunning scenery. On arrival to Inti Punku (Sun Gate) we have the prospect of taking photos without the normal group of 300 tourists.
Today is play day, we descend to the front gate to leave our rucksacks and get our passports stamped with the log of Machu Picchu where your guide is available all day to visit Huayna Picchu (limited numbers due to government regulations), The Inca Bridge or even for extreme hikers Machu Picchu mountain and its wonderful array of orchids. Not for the faint hearted.
We recommend that you spend the night in Aguas Calientes and have another day in Machu Picchu as you see very little of this incredible citadel in one day.
Afternoon train to Ollantaytambo or night in Aguas Calientes.
