Eco Trek Peru offers you the opportunity to get to know the Incan Trail and Machupicchu, in two days.
DAY 1
We´ll leave early in the morning, in the direction of the railway station, to start our train journey from Ollantaytambo, to Km. 104, in Chachabamba, where the entrance checkpoint is located, as well as a ceremonial complex which will welcome us to this part of the Incan Trail, and after a short visit of the place, we´ll undertake the 3 hour uphill hike through a cloud forest, where a cascade will astonish us, as well as one of the best Incan architectural complexes called Huiñay Huayna, given the abundant presence of a species of orchid that bears the same name which means “Forever Young” in Quechua.
There, we´ll rest to have our meal and will go on with our hike towards the Sun´s Gate or Inti Punku, a place from which we´ll see Machupicchu for the first time, and after having emerged from the awe, we´ll descend to the Guardian´s House, where we´ll rest once more, contemplating the Sun set over this sacred place´s magical mountains. Finally, we´ll board the bus that will take us to our hotel in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 2
We´ll set off early, with a succulent breakfast, after which we´ll board the bus that will take us in half an hour to Machupicchu, where our guide will show us the Incan City in its true dimension, while we´ll appreciate the harmony that exists between an architectural masterpiece erected by the Incan culture and one of the world´s most bio-diverse places, surrounded by sacred natural elements, such as the Willkamayu River (The Incas´ Sacred River) and the mountains or Apus (Sacred Mountains) which protect that Wonder of the Modern World.
Once the guided visit over, we´ll have a chance to explore the new findings made in the Incan city, and, perhaps will we attempt escalading Mount Machupicchu, a very special place, from which we´ll be able to appreciate the magnificence of the scenery and understand why the Incas built that city there, in the middle of the mountains.
