Quilla 4days

This program mixes culture with adventure, in the best way and in a diverse environment. First, we´ll do some mountain biking. Then, we´ll visit Vitcos, the capital city of the Incan resistance, with its great Sacred Huaca (Shrine), the Yuraq Rumy or White Stone. Finally, we´ll go down rapids on the Urubamba River and will return, pedaling downhill to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 1

We´ll pedal on asphalt, from the Sacred Valley of the Incas, over the Málaga Mountain Pass, above 4,300 m.a.s.l., to descend to the Huyro Valley and get to the village of Chaullay, from which we´ll ascend the Vilcabamba Valley, to the village of Huancacalle. There, we´ll visit the impressive Incan constructions of Vitcos, the capital city of the Incan resistance, from 1536 on, which was Manco Inca´s home and resting place, where the Great Huaca (Shrine) or Yuraq Rumy is located.

We´ll spend the night at the Six Pax Manco Inn, in Huancacalle.Lunch and dinner. Accommodation.

Day 2

In the morning, we´ll once again visit the surroundings of Vitcos, to then get prepared to ride an average of 50 km. on our mountain bikes, on a 2,000 m. downhill, starting above 3,200 m.a.s.l. (Huancacalle). We´ll descend amidst corn and potato fields which are typical of this ecological level, to get to the place where coffee, cacao and banana plantations, as well as other typical tropical high jungle products grow, to end our ride in Chaullay (1,180 m.a.s.l.), and head on to Quillabamba, the City of the Eternal Summer, to stay overnight, after having enjoyed an unforgettable experience.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hotel in Quillabamba.

Day 3

Today, we´ll switch elements, to feel the Earth from its aquatic veins, with rafting in the Urubamba River´s waters. This section is very exciting, with class 3 rapids, sightings of different types of birds and a considerable number of rapids that will have our adrenalin rise to unexpected levels.Rafting time on the water averages 3 hours and we´ll have a free afternoon, to enjoy the warmth of Quillabamba, the City of the Eternal Summer.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hotel in Quillabamba.

Day 4

During our return trip to Cusco, we´ll enjoy another mountain bike downhill, from the Málaga Mountain Pass, above 4,300 m.a.s.l., and we´ll cycle on an asphalted road that will take us to the Incan village of Ollantaytambo (2,800 m.a.s.l.). For experienced cyclers, we have an itinerary along a path that will put the adrenalin rate to its maximum, during this last day of our adventure on the land that once was controled by Manco Inca´s army, and which offers us a great diversity of climates and opportunities to enjoy nature and impressive Andean landscapes, as well as the cloud and jungle edge forests in this part of the Department of Cusco.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Price: Super deluxe service, with chef and the best in rafting and cycling equipment.
